feedback on this site's design please??

So, as I've been grumbling about for a while now, I am not satisfied with this site's design (and well, who the hell is ever satisfied with anything they made - it's only ever 'good enough' or not good enough). I am going to be migrating this over to WordPress, once I finish getting my first two WordPress sites (acunninghat.com and my webcomic) halfway presentable. I am toying with segregating different topics into distinct feeds, or even seperate sub-blogs (music, design, trains, etc). At the very least I'd like to give you the option to subscribe to sub-feeds selectively (how exactly I should do that I have yet to figure out - yay for google). So, while you won't see any changes here for a bit, what does and doesn't work for you about the current design? Do you want more refined tagging? More discrete categories by topic? How's the basic layout working for you? (debating column number/placement... the current content column is too narrow for many pics/vids, but ideal for text) Suggestions for good WP commenting/threading engines? More Arial? (TRICK QUESTION) More Hello Kitty? (NOT TRICK QUESTION)

time for some feedback

I'll probably be moving this site over to Wordpress and redesigning it in the process soon - what changes would you like to see? Considering splitting the blog into separate sections - like music, photos, trains, design, etc - thoughts?? Is it enough for you to have the tags, or do you want fully separate sites for each? I do know i want to make the main column more suited to wide-format photos and videos, though this doesn't matter to everyone who subscribes to the site feed. I will also be adding ways for people to leave feedback without having to login and such - it's too much of a hassle for most people.

RSS feed changes & email Subsriptions!

I've jsut updated my RSS feed to Feedburner at http://feeds.feedburner.com/Traingeek. I think the old RSS should still work fine, but let me know if anything is messed up!

[update] Just added email subscriptions too - see sidebar to the right!

housekeeping

sorry about all the reposts from my LJ - I'll be doing more as i feel like it.  Would you prefer me to backdate them?  I don't know if there's any way to prevent them from showing up in your feeds though.

How to change your Blogger favicon. I'll do this as soon as I actually decide on a logo and such...

sweet tag cloud code since Blogger doesn't have any good ones by default.

Hello, hello.

My concept for the nature of this site's content is a direct rip off of Daring Fireball (http://www.daringfireball.net): Frequent mini-posts that are simple links to cool stuff I've come across combined with somewhat less frequent posts of actual original content.  I have been posting most of these 'cool stuff' links to twitter, but I will reduce my frequency of these link-spam tweets in favor of this site.

Since I intend this site to be archival in nature, I'll be gradually reposting favorite items from my old Livejournal in addition to the new content.  (I'll tag these 'repost' so my old readers can ignore them... all, um one of you...)

yay new blog!

So I'm transitioning over from Livejournal to Blogger for a more powerful blog.  Still mucking around with the DNS nameserver weird stuff, but http://www.traingeek.com should theoretically get you here [um, this blog that you're looking at right here...].  http://traing33k.blogspot.com will work too.
